“The portion of Bayberry Drive beginning shortly north of the park entrance sign, through the bicycle/pedestrian crossing at Oceanside Drive” will change to 15 mph, according to the news release. The park service added a 15 mph speed limit, down from 25 mph, to several portions of Bayberry Drive. The new speed limits went into effect immediately. The reason for the new speed limits is to reduce danger to pedestrians, bicyclists, wildlife and park maintenance vehicles as well other vehicles using the roads.
